November 2013 Update: A Surprise Conversion in Sierra Leone

Sharing Christ while grading papers

The young man approached me a little over three weeks ago at the Guest House that Jeanne and I stayed at in Sierra Leone.  We had been talking to him for a couple of days in his duties of overseeing the “bar” there.  He saw me grading papers from one of the workshops and asked if he could talk to me.  He shared that he was a Muslim and wanted to know how to become a Christian and asked if I could help him!

What a blessing to be able to share the Gospel with Him and see his response to the love and grace of God through Jesus Christ!

We subsequently met a couple of times for Bible study and he has continued to write me with questions about the Bible and how to live as a Christian.

This was a wonderful blessing from God to culminate the three workshops for 236 pastors and leaders in Sierra Leone who came to learn to be more effective in their study and preaching of God’s Word.  Their desire is to build the church and reach men and women in Sierra Leone like this young man.

I left 2 Bibles in Sierra Leone which means that a whole new shipment needs to be sent for training there in 2014.

On to Nigeria

Praise the Lord that 708 Bibles have now arrived in Nigeria where I leave for today – please be in prayer!.  We currently have 308 registered for workshops.

Updates on Bible Shipments

We should also have 300 Bibles arriving in Liberia within a week – though we need to ship more there for 2014.

All of the provision for Bibles has been through your generous giving in 2013 to take advantage of the discounted price for the final printing of the Thompson Bible in the NIV.

French Bibles Needed in 2014

We are in good shape for English Bibles in 2104 but still need about $7,000.00 for French Bibles for training of 620 in Chad, the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal in 2014.

Thank you all for making the making the development and growth of this ministry possible through your generous support and prayers!

In His grace and mercy,

Chuck
