May 2013 Update: Your Generosity Provides Bibles
There is a Congolese proverb about “Teamwork” that says, “You can’t wash your face with one finger.”
All of you are part of the “hand” that provided for over 2,400 English Thompson Bibles through the special opportunity APT Ministries was given by the matching gift donation. I can’t express my appreciation enough for your generous support and prayers for this effort. We will have enough Bibles to meet all of our 2013 and 2014 training goals in Nigeria, Liberia and Sierra Leone. I thank God for how He worked through you all and how your participation will impact thousands of pastors and multiplied thousands of others through their ministries!
Upcoming Bible Training in Sierra Leone
Please be in prayer for my upcoming trip May 19-26th. This will be my first trip to conduct an introductory workshop in Sierra Leone. Since the Thompson Bible training is “unknown” in Sierra Leone, there is an additional challenge of promoting the first workshop there. Please pray that God will move in pastor’s hearts to come!
My current plan (Lord willing) is to return to Sierra Leone this year in the fall as well as make two trips to Nigeria (June and November) to continue the expansion of the training there.
Liberian Team Leads Workshop
The Liberian training team (Wellington, Jallah and Joseph) will be conducting their second workshop of the year next week with the anticipation of fall workshops after we are able to ship more Bibles to them.
French Speaking Training in Chad
The French speaking training team (Sem and Nicolas) have already concluded two workshops in Chad for 220 pastors. However, we are out of French Thompson Bibles and cannot plan further training in Chad, the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo until we are able to purchase more French Bibles (a need of over $12,000.00). We’ll provide more information on our French-speaking ministry in a future update. Stay tuned.
