February 2014 Update: Resources Needed for Continued Growth

APT Ministries is committed to reaching Africa’s people by training Africa’s pastors. We do this by equipping pastors who have little or no training and few or no resources.

To date, we’ve trained over 3,100 pastors and leaders in Africa. Your prayers and ongoing gifts encourage us as we make plans to train many more in the coming year.

Your Bible gifts make more training possible in 2014

The picture below is of the remaining 1,500 English Thompson Bibles of the 2,500 you provided for in 2013. All of these Bibles will be sent to Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Kenya for 2014. All of the 500 French Thompson Bibles you provided are already in Africa as well!

Bibles Awaiting Shipment

Our goal for 2014 is double the number of Pastors and leaders we trained in 2013. This will mean providing training for 1,800 – 2,000.

I have been asked, “How we can attempt this increase in one year?”  The answer is simple: We can double our training because the Bibles we need for 2014 were paid for in advance. This enables us to project training dates without waiting for the funding to purchase Bibles.

Funding in advance is also needed to make travel reservations.  This is an ongoing need and from a stewardship standpoint enables us to purchase plane tickets at a significant savings.

Trusting God for greater financial provision

As a ministry, if we are going to plan and promote workshops for 2015 then we will need funding to purchase Bibles in advance this year. Consequently, we are asking the Lord to provide $100,000.00 a year for Bibles for each of the next 3 years. This will move us toward the goal of training 3,000 annually in 2015- 2017 as we develop National Training Teams in the 8 countries to which we are currently committed.

PLEASE PRAY for me as I have meetings with people this year to discuss participating in reaching this goal!

Pastors in Africa ask for Bible Training

We want to be able to respond to the needs of  Pastors and leaders in Africa as described in this e-mail I received from a Tanzanian Pastor on February 8th. (The pastors he refers to were in a picture he sent.)
After visiting your site I have thought of emailing you. Please help. By his grace I went to theological school, but not much. I only have a diploma. But many of these pastors have never gone to any school. Please I am inviting your ministry to look on this because many big ministries are focusing in cities and towns, forgetting that we have so many pastors in the village who needs our help.  Am pastoring a church in a city called Mbeya, but cant be silent while I know many pastors in the villages have never gone to school. Please help.
Thank all of you for helping the Church in Africa by helping to equip her Pastors, those with little or no training and few or no resources.

Because of His grace and mercy,

Chuck
